Odisha Auto Appeal System is set to begin by May 2026, bringing major relief to people waiting for government services. The new system will help ensure that citizens get services on time under the Odisha Right to Public Services Act. If an officer fails to deliver a service within the fixed deadline, the application will automatically move to a higher authority for appeal.

This important update was shared during a review meeting of nodal officers from 32 departments. The meeting was chaired by Principal Secretary of the GA and PG Department, Suresh Kumar Vasisth. He said the Odisha Cabinet has already approved the Auto Appeal provision, marking a major step toward stronger and more citizen-friendly governance.

Odisha Auto Appeal System to Boost Accountability

Officials said the new system will create a stronger sense of responsibility in government departments. Citizens often face delays in getting important certificates, approvals, and other public services. With Auto Appeal, service requests will no longer remain stuck for an unlimited time.

Suresh Kumar Vasisth described the move as the beginning of a new era of accountability. He made it clear that citizens should not be forced to wait endlessly for services that they are legally entitled to receive.

Project Coordinator Pinaki Mohanty explained the technical side of the system during the meeting. He said the Auto Appeal System will work through digital integration, which means appeals will be triggered automatically if deadlines are missed. People will also be able to track file movement in real time across departments.

This digital system is expected to reduce physical visits to government offices. It will save time for citizens, improve transparency, and make the service process easier and more reliable.

Additional Secretary Debabrata Mallick said the new feature is necessary because it adds another layer of protection for citizens’ rights. According to him, the Odisha Right to Public Services Act has already improved service delivery in many areas, and Auto Appeal will make the system even stronger.

He asked all departments to connect their databases with the central portal before the May 2026 deadline. This integration will be important for the smooth launch and proper functioning of the system across the state.

The meeting ended with thanks to all departments for working together on the initiative. The state government believes this reform will help Odisha emerge as a leader in digital governance, transparency, and public accountability.

Once implemented, the Odisha Auto Appeal System could become a game changer for citizens by making government services faster, more transparent, and more dependable.
