Odisha EV charging stations are expanding quickly as the state takes an important step toward clean transport and a greener future. The State Transport Authority has announced a major push to improve public EV charging infrastructure, making it easier for people to choose electric vehicles across the state.

At present, the Odisha government has already started work on 100 EV charging stations. Out of these, 17 stations are already operational in Bhubaneswar. This is a positive sign for daily commuters, EV owners, and people who are planning to switch from petrol or diesel vehicles to electric mobility.

The move does not stop here. Under the Central Government’s PM-eDrive scheme, another 190 EV charging stations are planned in Odisha. This wider expansion is expected to support the growing number of electric vehicles on the roads and help the state move faster toward clean energy adoption.

The latest development shows that Odisha is preparing for the future of transport. Public charging stations are one of the biggest needs for EV users. Many people want to buy electric vehicles, but they often worry about where they will charge them. By increasing the number of charging points, the government is trying to remove this concern.

This effort will also help reduce pollution in cities and towns. More EV adoption means lower fuel use, cleaner air, and a more sustainable transport system. For a fast-growing state like Odisha, this is an important step in balancing development with environmental responsibility.

17 Public EV Charging Stations in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar currently has 17 public EV charging stations across the city. These are located at key and busy points, making charging more accessible for residents and travelers.

These locations cover several important traffic points in the capital city. This means EV users can expect better convenience whether they are going to work, shopping, hospital zones, transport offices, or major junctions.

The expansion of EV charging stations is more than just an infrastructure update. It is a signal that Odisha is serious about electric mobility. When charging points become more common, people feel more confident about using EVs for daily travel.

This can bring several benefits:

Easier charging access for EV owners

More confidence for people planning to buy electric vehicles

Lower dependence on fossil fuels

Reduced air pollution in urban areas

Stronger support for clean energy goals

Bhubaneswar, being the capital city, is naturally leading this change. But with 100 stations already initiated and 190 more planned under PM-eDrive, the impact could soon spread much wider across Odisha.

Odisha’s latest EV charging push shows that the state is moving in the right direction. With public infrastructure improving and government support increasing, electric mobility is becoming more practical for ordinary people.

For Bhubaneswar residents, the [17] live charging stations are already a strong beginning. For the rest of Odisha, the coming months could bring even bigger changes as new stations are added under both state and central plans. If this pace continues, Odisha may emerge as one of the key states in India’s clean transport transition.
