The registration period for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering GATE 2025 Registration Extended once again. Originally set to close on October 3, the new deadline is now October 11, 2024. This marks the second extension, following an initial deadline of September 26.
As per the latest notification from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, which is organizing GATE this year, the extension has been granted in response to numerous requests from applicants. The updated deadline allows candidates who have not yet registered to complete their applications online at the official website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
The notification states, “Due to several requests from applicants, the closing date of extended online registration/application process (with a late fee) is further extended up to 11:59 PM on October 11, 2024 (Friday).”
GATE 2025 Registration Extended Important Details:
- GATE Exam Format: GATE 2025 will be conducted in a computer-based testing (CBT) mode in February 2025 and will feature a total of 30 test papers.
- Registration Fees: The application fee for female candidates, SC/ST, and PwD candidates is ₹900, while all other candidates, including foreign nationals, will pay ₹1,800.
- Next Steps: Candidates who miss this registration deadline will need to wait until next year to apply.

Application Steps:
- Visit the official GATE website.
- Click on “Apply Now” from the applications menu.
- Fill in personal details and select papers for examination.
- Upload required documents such as photographs and signatures.
- Provide valid government ID and bank details.
- Complete the payment process.
- Print the GATE application form and check your application status.
The photo on your GATE admit card and scorecard will match what you upload during registration. IIT Roorkee is expected to announce dates for editing the GATE application form soon. The admit card is likely to be released in January 2025, with exams scheduled for February 1, 2, 15, and 16.
